(Almost) Sunday Sevens #3

Ok, so it’s not Sunday…. but better late than never eh??

Like I said in my last post, we have been a house of illness recently. Exactly two weeks after LJ’s friend had chickenpox… LJ came down with it. Then I got a horrible cold too. And all of this just in time for our super busy weekend of a Christmas Fair, a staff meal, a Beaver Christmas party, a birthday party and a Christmas tree festival (and the normal swimming, badminton, grocery shopping, cleaning…). I have been off work looking after LJ and consequently I’m feeling like we have let everyone down because we have had to cancel/miss so much that was planned, even though I know it can’t be helped. And still to come is Big J’s turn at chicken pox… I’m predicting next week for him. So instead of interesting photo’s of all the things we should have been doing, here is what we have done…

Some edging and end sewing of Big J’s blanket, lots of games and model making, some baking (both Christmas and non-Christmas related) and some hearty soup making. Mmmmmm…. Spicy tomato and couscous again…. I am still addicted to the harissa in it!!! Grandma and Grandad Patch made a flying visit in the chickenpox free window that this weekend brought, it was wonderful to see them and we had good food and good times all round. We are all back to work and school (for now at least) and clinging on until the holidays start at the weekend.

Sunday Sevens – a short blog post with seven/a few/lots of (delete as appropriate) photos from your week. (Introduced to me by Thimberlina and invented by Natalie from Threads and Bobbins).

  1. The reindeer! Love it! Just down the street from us is a snow deer built on sticks, with stick antlers. I must try to remember to take a picture the next time I’m that way. Which isn’t likely to be very soon on account of the snowstorm coming. Hopefully the deer survives!

  2. Ah the chicken pox! Mr J had it. On the day he was allowed out again we went to Brighton. Next day Mr T came down with it. One month I was house bound for. Good luck.

    • Yes, I would rather get it over with too. We were fortunate that LJ only felt ill for a couple of days so there was lots of time for fun but indoor stuff. There’s a nasty tummy bug going round LJ’s school…. Really hope we don’t get that one!!!
