A short while ago I promised I would update you on the progress of Big J’s Blanket, so here I am. If you want to read more about it’s beginnings you can find it here and here.
I have had a little bit of a crochet break but have got back into it now, doing two or three rows a night when I’m not too tired or busy with something else. Little by little it is growing.Every so often Big J will say “How’s my blanket coming along Mum?”. Then he will come over and have a look, pick it up, see how much it’s grown and have a quick snuggle. I think he really values it already.
It’s good to compare to see how far it’s come. Sometimes I feel it’s going ever so slowly and it gets disheartening. (Perhaps that’s why I was lacking motivation??). But looking at those pictures the amount of progress is clear. You can see two full repeats of the pattern now.
It’s half term this week and we are off to Little J’s Green Boat (yay!) so the blog might be a bit quiet but you can catch up with our adventures on Facebook and Twitter… assuming I have a signal. I am soooo looking forward to it. It seems like such a long time since we were last on her because we went to Scotland last year instead and Little J does seem to have forgotten a lot about it. Definitely time for a visit. I promise to take lots of photos and share them with you on our return.
That is a GORGEOUS blanket, I don’t blame J for bonding with it, I think I have too!
It’s getting on well. I like the interleaving colour look.
Love the blanket! Have fun on the boat. I’ll definitely look for pictures on Twitter! 🙂
It’s looking great. Love the colours you’ve used 🙂
I love the pattern and the colours work really well to. I’m not surprised he’s snuggling already. Enjoy the boat trip 🙂

The blanket is coming along lovely, really like the colouring, that’s one very lucky little boy. Enjoy your break 🙂
I love the ripple pattern, it is great for a boys blanket, I made one for each of my boys in blues and greens. I like the colour choices you have used, I wonder did J pick them himself.
